as a result of shaving i have some scars on my face, they are flat scars that make some parts of my face look red, not as noticeable as when one is blushing but noticeable enough. if i got microdermabrasion on the face would it reduce the scar's appearance and generally, how many sessions must be attended before you can notice the difference? thanks in advance.

You need to look on the product and it should tell you this! It all depends on which one that you got! Every product is different results here! As for scars there is Scar Zone,Mederma,Prefer on! Micoderabrasion is for wrinkles and deep lines!
Microdermabrasion is for many things, including light scarring, stretch marks, fine lines, and wrinkles. Nowadays there are different types of microdermabrasion that can be done. From wave technology, to the common crystal dermabrasion. Check around to get information on what is available in your area and what you think will benefit you most. You can this done at some spas, med spas, as well as some dermatologist’s offices. Normally you will need to have this done 5-6 times and then do "maintenance" procedures to keep up with it. Some spas will offer a special facial that can be done with the procedure to help with the effects. Also some places will offer "packages" to help with cost. It can be pricey depending on where you live…I know some people who charge $75 for just the procedure and $100-125 for the procedure + facial…..other people may charge more. Do some research and check around, and make sure whomever performs this has has experience doing it. Good luck!!
I have a scar on my face that is still apparent and kind of indented, eve after scar revision surgery. My plastic surgeon recommended microdermabrasion as a way to help mask the scar. Get a consult with an esthetician (~$25) or plastic surgeon (~$50-75) to ask about your unique situation. It should help reduce the scar appearance on the face, but I’m not sure how many treatments it would take…
